Rina's first sports festival!

We attended Reina’s sports festival last Saturday. The weather forecast on TV said that it would be rainy on that day, but it was off. It was very hot day. I kept space to sit right next to the field and my mother, Taka, Luna and I stayed there and watched the festival. She was in the Team Red and we cheered for her team. Team Red lost last year, so all the kids in Team Red tried to win this year. Reina first attended the 50m race and she won the second place. GOOD! Then she played at the tag of war. They played three times and Team Red won the first time, then Team white won the second time. Then they played third time, and Team Ren won this time too! GOOD! At noon, we had lunch by the field. I made a lot of rice balls and spring rolls. My friend brought fried chicken, baked egg and we shared. It was very delicious, but was too hot to eat lunch outside on that day. Luna was tired staying by the field in the hot weather and became grumpy. So we stayed shadow area and cheered the festival. Team Red scored over Team White by noon. Finally they had relay races, but Team Red lost all the races.... I thought Team Red couldn't became thisyear's winning team, because if any team won the relay race, it would get 30 points. Too Bad…. At the closing ceremony, one teacher announced the winning team. It was Team Red!!! It was very close battle but still Team Red won! I could not believe! So did my friend whose son was in Team White. The kids in Team Red were so happy! I was very proud of them.

BBQ Time!

We had this year’s first BBQ on the back porch. We had a lot of Yakitori and kabobs. Usually, when we eat Japanese style BBQ, we just grill slices of pork or beef, but I made kabob today. I had hard time to prepare them; I poked my fingers many times, but it was easier when we started to have BBQ. I don’t need to worry about my girls spilling BBQ source all the time. My girls loved to grill sausages by themselves. It was hot in the afternoon, but has got cool in the evening, and it was excellent temperature to have BBQ. I wished we could have bottles of Heineken here with us!

Happy Birthday, Luna!!

She is four years old now! Time fries!! I remember when I gave birth to her, it was at night. I saw beautiful moon in the sky and I decided to name her Luna. She used be a very happy baby all the time. When Reina was a baby, I had had hard time to bring her up, but Luna, I had not had any trouble with her at all. She didn’t cry, didn’t get much cold or fever. She still is a happy girl, and always talks really loud.

On Sunday, we planed to have a party with her grandparents at their home in Shingo Village, but she had a fever on that day (It’s really unusual!), so we had a party at our home on Monday without them.

She said she wanted to be a soccer player in the future. I hope she can, but I have never seen her practicing soccer.

Hanami Camp!

We had been camping during Goldenweek. Ayano, Reina’s cousin, came with us this time. It was best time to see cherry blossoms, and we enjoyed Hanami a lot.

The weather was very fine on the first day, but it was very cold. We stayed at the camp site by the lake Jyusanko. There is an islet in the center of the lake and there are camp sites, cabins, and a park there. On the shore, we could pick shellfish, but the girls could not pick any of them.

Our friends came together, and it was first time for them to camp at that time. My girls were so happy to have their friends there and enjoyed hammock ride. We had BBQ and beer for dinner, but it was too cold to drink beer at that night.
Next day we enjoyed sliding a long slide at the park. It sprinkled a little but we still enjoyed. Then we went to Cape Tappi. We said good-bye to our friends there and we headed for The lake Ogawara, we drove from the west coast to the east coast of Aomori.

We arrived at the lake about 4:00, and we found nice camp site by the lake, it was free! Reina’s friend, who moved Aomori, stopped by and they could play for a whole. We had curry and beer for dinner and it was much warmer than last night, so we could enjoy beer.
Next day was Saturday, and Taka had to be in the wedding party at noon, so we packed our luggage quickly and went home. We had very good time!!

Spring has come!

Cherry blossoms finally opened up in Hachinohe. We had had a long winter this year and waited for the cherry blossom time. It was very fine day yesterday and was much warmer than last few days. Then cerry blossoms burst out!

We went to Nagane Park and enjoyed walking under the cherry trees. Reina tried to touch the flowers but she was too short. So she asked her father to carry her on his shoulders, and she finally could touch it.

Golden week is coming and we are planning to go camping. I hope we can still enjoy cherry blossoms while we are camping.

She looks so happy!!

This is Luna!

This is my younger daughter Luna.
She's practicing the piano every morning.
My girls used to go to the kindergarten together.
Then Reina's elementary school has started since this April, Luna had to go to school alone.
I thought she didn't want to go without her sister, but she was ok. She was happy to meet new friends!
I'm glad!

We moved the piano from the room upstairs to the living room. Now all of us practice the piano everyday.
Even my hasband Taka does! He plays the piano much better than me.
I just started my piano lessons. I hope I can play my favorite song "The Way We Were" someday!!

Hello!

I just started my blog here, " The days with the girls".
My days are very busy with my gilrs, and I hope you enjoy reading this.
This is our latest photo. My elder girl, Reina, has just stared her first year of the elementary school. She was so happy to go to shool. However, I'm worried. I hope she can make nice friends at shool.
